Canadian Professor of Science of Religions Patrice Brodeur: “Algeria has made efforts to overcome the effects of the bloody era”

Patrice C Brodeur, Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair on Islam, Pluralism, and Globalization at the Faculty of Theology and the Science of Religions at the University of Montreal, Canada, asserted that Algeria has made political, social and religious efforts in order to overcome the bloody events of the black decimal.

• “All the state institutions in Algeria, including health, religious and mosques have cooperated over the past years in order to address the effects of these events”, Professor Patrice Brodeur said during a symposium on “Women and Islam” held Sunday in the Embassy of Canada to Algeria in Algiers.

• He also spoke about the efforts by the Algerian Institution of Developing Health and Research since a long time in order to erase the effects of that era at all the levels.

• The Canadian professor explained that the religious institutions and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Islamic Supreme Council take public positions to denounce extremism.

• At this framework, Brodeur said that Algeria has the potential to go beyond the results of those events because the Algerian society has the spirit of openness, tolerance and dialogue and has amazing history references such as Emir Abdelkader.
