Car insurance covers only 10% of the costs

Experts of cars insurance said the costs of repairing cars in Algeria are very high after the workers in the mechanical workshops asked for the amount of 1400 dinars per hour, meaning that the client have to pay between 700 and 1400 dinars for every hour, and if the worker takes three or four days to repair a car, the clients will pay millions of dinars. 

• In the mean time the companies of insurance are still relying on reference prices by the Ministry of Finance since 15 years, which set the prices of labour with 140 dinars per hour.
• “The costs of insurance are not suitable with the prices of the market, which causes daily problems between the clients and the insurance companies, and this can explain the accumulation of appeals deposited by customers,” one expert said.
