Chairman of the Algerian Football Federation Mohammed Raouraoua elected Vice- President of the Arab Football Union

The chairman of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) won with a land sliding victory the post of first Vice- President of the Arab Football Union during the elections held yesterday in Ryadh, Saudi Arabia obtaining 18 voices.

• This achievement translates the good reputation of the Algerian representative who took advantage of his position in the International Football Governing Body ( FIFA) to serve the Arab national squads and clubs alike.

• The Iraqi representative Hocine said Mahmoud got the same number of voices as his Algerian counterpart while the Sudanese Mouaatasem Djaafer held the third position equally with the Emirates Ghanem Ahmed Ghanem with 17 voices then the Kuwaiti Mubarek Al Messaab and the Lebanese Mahmoud Arbaa with 15 voices each.

• The Egyptian representative Samer Zaher, who sparked a huge media uproar recently when he challenged Mohammed Raouraoua for the same post as a last ditch effort o refurbish his tarnished image, was the biggest loser in this competition and took the last position with 13 voices only. The result reflects the bad reputation of the man at the Arab level and his Federation that lost credibility in the Arab Football Institution.

• The Egyptian disillusion comes in the event of the last cowardly attack on the Algerian bus in Cairo followed by a spiteful campaign waged by the Egyptian media against the Algerian people and his symbols.

• In spite of an aggressive campaign attempted by the Egyptians recently to narrow the gap with the Algerians through the mediation of other parties in a bid to reconcile the two countries, the Algerian representative stood firm on his position declaring that the reconciliation must start with the issue of official apologies from the Egyptian authorities because, as he put it, the question is a matter of a sovereignty of a while people and a state before being a sportive one.

• On the sidelines of the elections that took place yesterday, the Arab representatives have unanimously expressed their total support for the Algerian national team in their quality as the unique Arab representative in this prestigious competition.

• The Arabs have understood that the Algerian achievement is theirs and are resilient to stand as one behind the “Greens” giving thus a lesson of patriotism and maturity to those who pretended to be the “guardians” of the Arab brotherhood but do not miss the single opportunity to stab in the back Algeria.

• The official appointment of the newly elected members will take place during the next meeting of the Union’s Executive Board .

• Mohammed Raouraoua is homeward bound today and will be present Saturday at the Olympic stadium to attend the final of the Algerian cup between ES setif and CA Batna .
