Chairman of the Egyptian club Al-Ahly, Hacen Hamdi, said Sunday that the delegation of the club has been warmly welcomed in Algeria as part of the second day for the African Champions League.

“We were well received by our Algerian brothers,” said Hacen Hamdi at a press conference.

“The bus attack was an isolated case. Our delegation visited Algeria without feeling any animosity by our Algerian brothers”, he asserted.

“The warm welcome we received in Algeria proves the opposite of what was reported by some liars. I will be head of the delegation to host JS Kabylie at Cairo airport next Wednesday.

Chairman Hacen Hamdi called Al Ahly club fans to provide a good welcome members and players of JSK in Cairo, as guests’ brothers in their second home to reflect good ties between Algerians and Egyptians, which cannot be altered by a football match.

Previously, African Football Confederation (CAF) officials were still utterly upset by the Egyptian threats to turn to the international Football Governing Body (FIFA) if the African institution doesn’t take into account the complaints after the match that opposed the Algerian club JS Kabylie to the Egyptian of Al Ahly. CAF has in this respect, has vehemently reprimanded the Egyptian club through a release statement, considering that the issue should be discussed at the level of the African Football Confederation.

For his part, the administarion manager at the CAF Abdelmouneim Echatta has indicated that severe sanctions will be issued against the wrongdoers in the match, hinting to the Egyptian players who were punished by the referee.

He further added that his institution will not launch any procedure until the reception of an official request and thorough assessment about the events from the Egyptian club, indicating that some events were not verified.
