This procedure is considered by the Head of the federation of Algerian Consumers, Zaki Hariz, as anarchical; “This may cause damage the consumers’ health, because the chaotic merchants do not sell only fruit and vegetables, but their activity in Ramadan extends to many other goods like red and white meat, milk and derivatives, as well as dried fruits which date of validity is likely to end”.

Spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, called for a quick delivery of the largest possible number of parallel markets, so that the citizen can buy consumable products that are controlled and healthy, because most vendors are active in the chaotic markets where 80% of the goods are corrupt due to the total absence of the services of censorship.

For his part, Spokesman of the Algerian Federation of Merchants and Craftsmen, H adj Taher Boulenouar, said the Ministry of Commerce can not deal with the chaotic traders who are active mostly in the parallel markets and without business records; “The ministry meant sellers of fruit and vegetables only, but this procedure should not take place because Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, are excepting the final elimination of the chaotic market before Ramadan 2013, but this did not happen until today, because the deficit in the parallel markets exceeded 60%”.

“Chaotic traders increase in Ramadan, and their activity extends to marketing all the food that have mostly expired, because they are not controlled, and are sold at low prices, making the citizen buying them without considering the danger on citizens’ health”.
