Cheikh Ferkous: rulers are like Al-Najashi, they must not be excommunicated
Cheikh Mohamed Ali Ferkous continued criticizing “jihadist and party salafism”, saying most of jihadist movements in Arab countries ended by choosing socialist regimes followed by democracy and pluralism.
Cheikh Ferkous did not talk about tens of jihadist groups which did not join modern political actions as part of democracy and communism. He compared democratic regimes which reject the Islamic Law to Al-Najashi, the Christian king of Abyssinia.
“Al-Najashi King did not immigrate with Muslims and did not lead jihad. Allah excused him. It is known that he could not rule his people according to Islam’s Sharia because they did not accept that,” he said in his monthly address.
“The same thing happened to believers among people of Pharaon, his wife and Prophet Joseph with Egypt’s people. They were unbeliever and he could not apply all the Islamic precepts on them,” he added.
Ferkous believes that Arab rulers want to apply the Islamic Law but “powerlessness” due to foreign and domestic pressures “did not allow them” to achieve that goal.
