Algeria’s Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal signed an instruction to order all the ministries to apply compulsory retirement on all the State’s executives who are 60, Echorouk has learnt.

The instruction is meant to give young executives the opportunity to manage different sectors. It did not touch executives who hold sensitive positions and have a long experience.

Civil servants who are 60 years old will be automatically retired in accordance to the law.

Sellal’s instruction comes following his working visits to a large number of provinces. He said employment has become a priority for the government as part of the President’s program which aims at creating 3 million new jobs.

According to the same sources, the instruction does not touch executives who have high technical experience and were appointed by presidential decrees. The law will not be applied on executives who hold sensitive positions due to their experience as well.

The ministries will start applying the instruction in order to open door to thousands of unemployed young people. Vacant jobs due to the Prime Minister’s instruction will be offered to young competences.
