Combating Crime: Over 7400 people arrested since January 2012 in Algeria, National Gendarmerie

Algiers- At least 7400 people arrested by security services during the fight against all forms of crime since January 2012 in Algeria, the National Gendarmerie told APS here on Monday.

 

Outcome by the judicial police belonging to the National Gendarmerie shows that 7140 cases were addressed, and 7463 people were arrested, including 2016 who were jailed.

 

It also shows that 7140 crimes and violations of laws are distributed as follows: Property-related offenses (1692 cases), crimes against families and public behavior (215), offenses against public tranquility (191), organized crime (1162), and violations of laws (888), murder (41), intentional assault (696), theft (1402), rape (30), organization of a criminal gang (107), vandalism of properties (148) and forging administrative documents (57).
