Consultancy contract unveils bribes given by Spanish officials for Tlemcen project
A consultancy contract of a Spanish and a Holland company shows that Spanish officials paid bribes to two Algerian generals and officials at public enterprises. It says the enterprise should receive money in return for its services. It also includes salaries estimated at 15,000 euros and commission of 10 percent paid by the Spanish company after getting the deal.
The five-page contract was signed in September 2011. It was published by a Spanish newspaper on Thursday.
It says a Spanish company and an Amsterdam-based enterprise signed a contract to determine payment terms related to a facilitating operation to get a water desalination plant project in Tlemcen.
According to the same newspaper, a total of 150,000 euros were allocated to the mediator as a fix tax along with a commission of 10 percent.
The contract stipulates that its contents should remain confidential.
Earlier, Echorouk had published a list of Algerian names involved in this case. The two generals’ identity has not been revealed yet.
