Cooperation: US Ambassador extolls good performance of Algerian foodstuffs industry

The US Ambassador in Algeria, His Excellency Mr Henry S. Ensher, has expressed in the eastern city of Guelma admiration at the big capacities of Algeria's foodstuffs industry.

• During a visit on Wednesday to El Fedjoudj, a unit of the foodstuffs group “Amor Benamor”, the US Ambassador said that this industrial group enjoyed a good reputation in economic circles, both inside and outside the country.

• This thriving industrial group created in 1984, employs nowadays around 1.100 permanent workers.

• Mr. Ensher indicated that his visit came in the framework of business contacts between the US Embassy in Algeria and Algerian economic operators.

• The US Ambassador also paid a visit to the nearby province of Annaba where he met with the Wali or Governor Mohamed El Ghazi.

• He is also scheduled to confer on Thursday in Annaba with the Dean of the Badji Mokhtar University as well as with the General Manager of the Port and the chairwoman of the SEVE Association.

• According to the US diplomat, this visit to the eastern part of the country is mainly aimed at further enhancing Algerian – US cooperation and boosting trade exchanges in several fields of endeavour.
