Coronavirus: The Largest Evacuation Of Algerians From Abroad In The Country’s History

The Algerian government, Air Algérie and the Maritime Transport Company are preparing for the launching of an air and sea evacuation, perhaps it will the largest in the history of Algerians who are stranded abroad, in which Tassili Airlines planes are likely to participate, if necessary.

In this context, the Algerian embassies and consulates abroad were informed of the start of registration operations for the Algerians residing on the homeland and who are stuck in various countries of the world due to the suspension of flights and sea journeys, due to the spread of Coronavirus, to evacuate them to the homeland as soon as possible.

The Algerian embassy in Paris said in a statement, which copy is available to Echorouk, that in the framework of the procedures that are approved by the higher authorities of the country regarding the evacuation of non-resident Algerians from France, the Algerian embassy and air Algérie invite the Algerians with visas to France, to contact the various Algerian consulates in France or to approach from the air Algérie agencies through the French airports that were designated for this operation.

The statement explained that the process relates only to Algerian nationals who are residing on the homeland, and invited those concerned to register for the statistics process through the following e-mail: Celluledecrise@amb-algerie.fr

The statement called on those involved in the evacuation to write down the name and title of the person who wants to be evacuated, a contactable phone number, the passport number, the current place of residence in France, and the return ticket of Air Algérie or another company.

The embassies of Algeria in Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and several other countries, through their statements, have called on Algerian nationals who are residing on the homeland and who are present in these countries to register and contact these services to organize their evacuation to the homeland.

The process will also extend to Arab and African countries after the suspension of all international flights to and from Algeria due to the emerging Coronavirus.

According to Air Algérie sources, the company will allocate the aircraft according to the needs that will be evident after the process of recording and counting the Algerians who are involved in the evacuation process, indicating that the process extends over 3 stages, which are statistics, then the provision of the fleet, obtaining licenses to fly, take off and land in an exceptional condition by the host country which will be accompanied with health measures.

It is expected that the authorities will also initiate the largest quarantine operation for all Algerians who are arriving in the context of evacuations from different countries of the world, with calls for hotels to be allocated to the process or the imposition of voluntary reservation by the person at his home, and thousands of Algerians will also be on a date with a sea evacuation through ships from Spain and France in particular.
