There are dozens of dead bodies of Algerians who passed away in France since the outbreak of Coronavirus infection, including elderly people who were infected with Covid19 and whose families were unable to transfer them to Algeria due to the suspension of flights between the two countries, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Algerian Union in France, Badoui Mouafak, told Echorouk, calling upon the Algerian authorities to interfere and solve this issue.

“If the Algerian authorities will not interfere, these dead bodies would be cremated. There is indeed a transfer of corpses, but not all of them. There are many obstructions in this file, as many Algerian families in France want to bury their relatives in Algeria. I call upon the Prime Minister to intervene and settle the issue of the corpses of the Algerians, especially that among the deceased there are corpses infected with corona and the French authorities will be forced to cremate them if Algerian authorities will not intervene and transport them to the homeland”.

Regarding the content of the letter they addressed to the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tabboune, Badoui said that one of the most prominent things they demanded was the necessity of helping to transport the corpses and reviewing the ticket prices.

“The price of the ticket between Algeria and France is the most expensive compared to the neighbouring countries such as Tunisia or Morocco, and even some migrants are moving to neighbouring countries and then to Algeria”.

“Besides, helping the Algerian community abroad to invest in Algeria by raising several obstacles since there are millions who want to invest in their country but the big obstacles make them prefer to work in France and thus waste a mass of hard currency, and enabling them to obtain housing in the context of state projects by allocating a quota in favour of immigrants”.

“We assisted about seven thousand Algerian illegal immigrants to help them, whether in the settlement of their documents or help them in adapting even if it comes to translating documents and appointing lawyers for free, calling for the need to unify the efforts of the Algerians to confront the extremist right party that spreads discrimination and racism”.

“I hope the Algerian community in France will have a place to participate in the advancement and progress in favour of what serves the country and the relations between Algeria and France. We hope that the President of the Republic will visit us in France and check out the conditions of the Algerian community, which is considered the most prevalent, including more than seven million Algerians”.
