The NATO and Algeria have settled a mechanism for sharing information over potential terror threats targeting trade and marine movement in the Mediterranean Sea, in the international waters and in the territorial waters.

A spokeswoman for the NATO told Abdenour Boukhemkhem of Echorouk that such a measures fall within the process of the Atlantic and Mediterranean dialogue, without providing further details.
She said “the door is still opened for any further contributions that reinforce the security in the Mediterranean region.”
The NATO official specified that such a strategy is the culmination of 10 years efforts of the military body in countering terrorism in the Mediterranean Sea, adding that regulatory military patrols backed up by air escorts ensure the security of the movement of goods and passengers.
3 The strategy started as by 9/11 attacks, as the NATO works to ban the movement of terrorists, the spread of chemical weapons and also reinforce the marine security,” the official said.
