The sources said the network was in charge of providing logistic support and information on the movements of police and army patrols to militants of the so called Abdelmalek Droukdel, one of senior leaders at al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).

The sources added that this terror backing up network used to supply terrorists with provision, and also was in charge of recruiting new militants to the terror group.

The four arrested men are originated from Algiers; three of them are unemployed, while the fourth one is an informatics engineer.

The counterterrorism unit of Algiers police concluded that the dismantled terror backing network is also involved in providing logistic support to militants of “Ennour Squadron” operating in Tizi Ouzou and Boumerdes woods.

The four men, aged between 24 and 28 are enduring cross examinations, the sources concluded.
