Customs and Gendarmerie services to tighten security apparatus during summer season

To this effect, an action plan has been set up with a view to beefing up controls and searches of the movement of people and goods all along the eastern and southern borders of Algeria.

This action plan will be duly enforced in order to stave off any infiltration into Algeria from the eastern and southern borders of terrorist elements and to check any cross-border smuggling operations.

It should be noted that the customs services in conjunction with border guards and elements of the National Gendarmerie have recently seized 248.50 liters of fuel which were about to be smuggled across the southern border of Algeria with Mali as well as a large quantity of foodstuffs worth 7 billion centimes.
