Death Of An Algerian Inside Italian Police Headquarters In Milan

A 43-year-old Algerian died on Sunday in a waiting room for detainees at the main police station in Milan, northern Italy, while police said the death was due to suicide.

Italian media outlets, including the official news agency ANSA, reported that the victim was arrested in the Venice Gate, Porta Venezia, accompanied by a Moroccan national, and taken to the main police station in Milan (La Questura).

According to the same sources, the victim was subjected to a legal process by a forensic doctor to determine the reasons that led to his death, at a time when the official version of the police services stated that the victim committed suicide in a waiting room for detainees in the main police station of the city.

According to the official version, the victim (his name and surname were not disclosed), his suicide scene was filmed by the surveillance cameras installed in the hall, and was examined by the judge in charge of the case, indicating that he pulled his neck with a rope from the shirt he was wearing, and then he tied himself to the iron bars of the window, dropping from it and dying shortly afterwards.
Strenuous efforts to revive him by the health emergency service also failed.

According to the official news agency ANSA, the victim has several previous identities, he used in several Italian cities, and the Algerian embassy in Italy will be contacted to determine his true identity.
