Details on driving licence with penalty points in Algeria

Drivers who commit traffic violations must undergo a training session in order to get back the half of points they lost, according to an instruction given by the Algerian transport and interior ministries.

The training session includes an awareness-raising course about traffic accidents and their consequences. It is concluded by an accredited certificate.

People who have driving licences with penalty points have the right to undergo two training sessions per year. Driving licence suspension commissions recuperate the lost points after the training certificates are delivered.

Algeria has recently issued the driving licence with penalty points but it has not come into force yet. It is a green document with 12 pages and a registration number in the first page. The number of points is 24.
