Detectives Abort Potential Suicide Plot Against Security, Government Buildings
Security services have, recently, aborted a potential terror plot against police stations and official buildings in the centre areas of Algeria.
Counterterrorism detectives collected information about potential car bombing attacks being under preparation by a terror squadron operating in the locality of Khemis El Khechna, in Boumerdes province (60 km western Algiers).
The detectives localized a man hailing from the locality of Meftah, in Blida province (60 km south west Algiers), who had been devoted to recruit more potential militants. When he was arrested, he was carrying a mobile phone containing inciting terror records, including a video record showing a terror operation.
The defendant admitted that he has links with terror groups activating in the centre areas, saying he managed to establish contact with them via Jihadist forums on internet. He further mentioned that he was given 200 thousand DZD to purchase a motorcycle ahead of committing a suicide attack.
