Djaballah threatens to boycott elections
Head of the Front of Justice and developement, Abdallah Djaballah, launched on Friday, a fierce attack against some newspapers and accused them along with some political parties of continued harassment over his party, after dealing with topics related to the participation of his relatives in the upcoming elections, including his wife and his brother in law.
Abllah Djaballah explained that he is ready to boycott the elections if the campaign by newspapers will continue against him , as he did in 1997; “I’m always the regime’s victim”.
Djaballah took advantage of the chance of meeting with the heads of the lists of candidates for the legislative elections, to draw sharp criticism on some newspapers, describing them as “Bad speakers and actors”, and accused them of “succumbing to one chief editor, who gives instructions aiming to overthrow his party”.
Djaballah expressed his anger over raise the issue of the participation of some of his relatives in May elections, and being top of the lists in a number of newspapers, denying all what has been published; “My relatives who will run for the elections are only three, including my wife, who was ranked first in the list of Algiers’ women, and the state committees proposed them and studied their files without my intervention. I sought to prevent them from running for the upcoming elections, but i changed my mind after I failed previously when I nominated some friends who betrayed me”.
Head of the Front of Justice and Development said in front of a his militants;” I took a neutral position during the examination of the candidates’ files by the local committees, under the control of the national office. I decided this time neither to prevent nor to praise anyone. I applied this rule on everyone, even my own family. I received bargains of some people who offered billions to become top of the lists, to but he re of candidates, but I refused to meet them because I am fighting corruption and will never be exercised it .”
According to Djaballah, the electoral campaign started lies and gossip, adding that some political parties and media encouraged indirectly parties to boycott the elections, wondering about who will benefit from it, and criticizing the exclusion of some candidates by the administration before justice decides in their favor, although they were neither founding members nor candidates in the former FIS party, adding that they have never been detained.
