Djamel Abdennacer’s younger brother to the Algerian people: Please forgive us
The younger brother of the late Egyptian president Djamel Abdenacer, has cordially accepted to give an interview to Echourok and expressed his admiration to the high level of professionalism that characterizes the Algerian press. He has revealed being an Algerian TV addict and a regular reader of Echourokonline.
- Before starting his interview, he insisted to extend his apologies to the Algerian people and authorities, spitting fire on what he considered as minority. Adel Abdennacer has expressed his gratitude to the Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika who is still assisting Abdenancer’s family.
- Q: How did the former leader’s brother deal with the latest ferocious Egyptian campaign against the Algerian people and history? And did he react accordingly?
- A: On behalf of the Egyptian people, I herein apologize for the ignominies that mired the history of the Algerian people and their valiant martyrs. I assert that the majority of the Egyptian people have nothing to do with this campaign which has been plotted by a wistful of rogues and will, in no way sully, the historical bonds between the two brother states. Djamel Abdennacer’s famous statement is still alive in the Arab peoples’ memory when he declared” Thanks God that the Arab nation counts among its ranks the Algerian people”.
- Q: Today’s Egypt has thrown both Abdennacer and Boumedienne’s struggles for the dignity of the Arab nation into the Nile River and brushed aside the common sacrifices; do you agree with scenario which links the latest events to foreign forces?
- A: I exclude this assumption and I’m sure that foreign parties have nothing to do with these events; I’m begging the Algerian people to forget what happened and be indulgent with their Egyptian brothers. I know that you are still angry after us and this reaction is understandable if we consider the base media campaign launched by the Egyptian private press against Algeria.
- Q: The Egyptian media boasted your country’s help to Algeria during the revolution to an extent that they declared that Algeria gained its independence thanks to the Egyptian assistance, any comment?
- A: Nobody can deny the Algerian support for the Egyptians during the 67 and 73 wars against Israel; I do remember that military cooperation between both countries was exemplary until Abdennacer’s death. Your late president Boumedienne moved personally to Moscow to bye arms for Egypt $ 2million worth at that time and didn’t live until the packing them into aircrafts.
