Djamel Mesbah, to Echorouk: “I am the happiest person in the world… I’m coming South Africa”

Echorouk called the Italian Lecce star Djamel Mebah, just after the press conference by Coach Rabah Saadane who discloses the list of 25 players to participate in Switzerland training camp.

• Echorouk: Finally, your dream becomes true.

• Djamel Mesbah: I already told you that I‘d travel to South Africa in order to support Algeria’s team, however; the possibility to participate in the World Cup doubled following this new list.

• Echorouk: We know that the second-class championship in Italy will not end before May 31, is it a problem.
•  
• Djamel Mesbah: Lecce club will play a match in Ascoli next Saturday, if we will win we ensure official ascent to the first section.

• Echorouk: We also know that your club will not dispense with you even though it will officially move to the second section.

• Djamel Mesbah:  No….We have four games left, I participated throughout the season in achievements of the team and we were able to return to Section I. my club will be glad if I participate in the World Cup with the Algerian team.

• Echorouk: How do you imagine the atmosphere of the training camp in Switzerland?

• Djamel Mesbah: It will be amazing. I am ready to enjoy it with my team-mates.

• Echorouk: It is said that the player who succeeded in realizing a good move is better that the one who fails like Ghezzal and Yebda. What is your opinion?

• Djamel Mesbah: Not necessarily, because the matter is different now, and is not in the same local context… I watched the Algerian players during the Africa Cup, and I noted that their performance differs from their way of playing in their clubs…frankly; I think Abdelkader Ghezzal deserves to play in a stronger club. We will see him after the World Cup in the strongest Italian clubs.

• Echorouk: however; we noticed that you are playing as a defender and there is no problem of defence in the Algerian squad.

• Djamel Mesbah: My position changed with my club throughout the season. I played from striker to defender. I scored in three consecutive matches and when we got to the first place, I turned into a midfielder. I have nine assists, goals, and wins too…

• Echorouk: Will you take your family to South Africa?

• Djamel Mesbah: It is possible… my baby Lilia constantly watches Algerian flag in the house and my mother and Italian wife want to travel with to South Africa.

• Echorouk: What can you say to Algerians?

• Djamel Mesbah: I tell them Djamel Mesbah will go to South Africa as he decided a long time ago, even as a fan…Even if Saadane would not choose me I’ll support Algeria’s team. By the way, I  pay tribute to the residents of Constantine, east of Algeria, who supported me and moved to Italy in order to raise the Algerian flag.
