Djezzy confirms the safety of its personnel and grants 20 million dinars in aid for the air transport of Algerian fans to Khartoum
The installations of the mobile telephony operator, Orascom Telecom Algeria (OTA) were attacked last night by thousands of disgruntled supporters who wanted to avenge the brutal acts of violence suffered by the Algerian players and fans during and after the Egypt-Algeria qualifier played on November 14th in Cairo.

At least 15 OTA agencies were ransacked by angry supporters in Algiers and its suburbs.

Other attacks against Djezzy facilities were also reported in other cities of the country.

The OTA head of communication, Hamid Grine, told a press conference in Algiers that the widespread damage inflicted on Djezzy agencies was estimated at 5 million dollars.

He indicated that about 70.000 mobile phones had been stolen and many computers and air conditioners had been destroyed during the assaults on the Djezzy facilities.

Mr. Hamid Grine strongly condemned the sad events of Cairo and said that Djezzy backed the national football ream.

He further announced the granting by Djezzy of 20 million dinars to Air Algérie for the transport of about 10.000 Algerian fans to Khartoum (Sudan) for the play-off match between Algeria and Egypt slated for Wednesday November 18th at 18h 30mn (Algerian time) at the El Merrikh Stadium of Khartoum.
