Doctor and bailiff involved in an international network of children’s smuggling to France

The doctor involved in the smuggling of illegitimate children towards France was presented to the court of Algiers this week following more than a year of investigations, reliable sources revealed to Echourok.

The 62 year old doctor is charged with constituting criminal gang and blackmailing of single mothers in exchange for hard currency against the babies. He was found guilty along with his accomplice, a bailiff who died recently in prison, of issuing nearly 12 guardianship certificates for more than 15 infants over the period between 2005 and 2006.
 
Among them, 9 were transferred to the city of Saint Etienne, France. Meanwhile, the investigation has revealed that the convict was I charge of more than 25 infants since 1998.
 
The network comprises 36 individuals including single mothers and French citizens born to Algerian origins who were heard by the French authorities. The doctor and the bailiff’s son are currently put under custody.
 
The investigators have discovered the case following intelligence that the individual known A.  Boualem (41) holding a dual nationality and married to a French woman, has succeeded to smuggle two children on December 2005 towards the city of Lyon, France,  through Houari Boumedienne international airport, with the complicity of the doctor who issued their birth certificates from a clinic in “Ain Taya”, eastern Algiers.
 
The investigations have revealed that the convict’s daughter was I charge of assisting the pregnant women until giving birth to their child while he was in charge of registering them at the Civil Status Office until their transfer abroad through a fake guardianship certificate issued by the bailiff.
 
The doctor was renting houses for the expecting women while his daughter was assisting them with a monthly salary in return until finding a suitable client for the adoption. The doctor was already charged with illegal abortion and responsible for the death of an infant.
 
 He was sentenced to two years prison and served 9 months in the prison of Al Harrach. The investigators have retrieved jewellery belonging to his victims bearing the names of the single mothers, hard currency and two illegitimate infants sequestrated by his sister.
