Droudkel admits a sharp decline in recruitment and “popular supportâ€
The “Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat†also known as “AQIM†recognises, in a statement issued Monday in some jihadist forums belonging to Al Qaida on the internet , that it is now going through hard days of sufferance due to the blatant lack of material and moral support.
-
The terrorist group also confirmed that it is in dire need to be supported by new elements.
-
-
The statement carries in its phrases, words that confirm what had already been reported by the media about a severe shortage in the group, including the lack of new recruits within its ranks, especially in the light of the relentless military operations in the different parts of Algeria and the tight stranglehold imposed by ANP forces on its elements in recent days.

They stressed the necessity of social care for repentant terrorists, saying the security system in Algeria changed and President Abdelaziz Bouteflika took courageous measures which must be backed.
-
Three former senior members of the GSPC organised a news conference in Algiers last week and expounded the main points of the National Reconciliation initiative promoted by Hassan Hattab, founder of the group.
