Droudkel fails to convince repentant terrorists to return to his group

Three repentant terrorists from Boumerdes province, east of Algiers, received “indirect” offers from the national leader of the “Salafist Group for preaching and combat,” Abdelmalek Droudkel, notably by becoming leaders in his group, Echorouk sources said.

  • The three terrorists gave themselves up a few years ago and were linked to several GSPC ringleaders  in command of several terrorist groupings.
  • Security services have been inquiring into the identity of the mediators who got into contact with the repentant terrorists from Boumerdes, east of Algiers.
  • The same sources say they were offered  leadership positions by  replacing Al Ansar’s battalion Ben Touati Amine, who surrendered to the security forces and Ben Titraoui’s Al Fatah battalion, as well as leadership positions in battalions that are active without formal leaders.
  • Droudkel asked these repentant terrorists to rejoin his group but to no avail.
  • These vain attempts confirm the state of anarchy now prevailing inside the terrorist groups after the elimination of several of their leaders recently. The  terrorists’ desire to surrender is said to be growing after they lost their most important chiefs and back-up cells in Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bouira provinces and also after Algerian ANP forces dismantled more than 15 logistics terror support networks, east of Algiers.
