“Echorouk And British Council Award Prizes To English Language Competition Laureates”
UK Ambassador in Algeria His Excellency, Martyn Roper, has expressed his country’s keen interest in further promoting the teaching of the English language in Algeria notably through the long-standing and fruitful partnership on the matter with the newspaper Echorouk.
- Mr Martyn Roper’s declaration came during a ceremony held yesterday in Algiers on the occasion of the handing over of prizes to three laureates of an English language competition jointly organized by the British Council and Echorouk.
- Accompanied by the Adviser to the newspaper’s General Management Mr Ali Draa, the UK Ambassador stressed that the active collaboration between this British institution and the newspaper Echorouk constituted an important landmark in the exemplary cooperation between Algeria and the United Kingdom.
- The laureates of the competition are Soraya Aliouche, 24 year-old from Algiers’ suburban district of Gué de Constantine, Rouabah Atiya, 30 from El Eulma in eastern Sétif province and Zahra Tounsi, 28 from Bouira.
