Echorouk exposes trafficking affair at Hassi Messaoud's customs office
Customs agents working at the customs' inspection office of Hassi Messaoud in southern Algeria have smuggled a large quantity of goods from a depot for the benefit of a foreign firm.
- An official document of which Echorouk possesses a copy revealed the ins and outs of this serious breach of the law and trafficking which occurred at the customs inspection office of Hassi Messaoud in the south of Algeria.
- The smuggled goods include costly oil industry equipments which were seized by the customs office of Hassi Messaoud on May 18th 2009 after a regulatory 60-day period in keeping with the customs’ code in force.
- The smuggled goods are estimated at 20 million dinars and an investigation is underway to unravel the intricacies of this smuggling affair by bringing all the traffickers involved before justice.
