Echorouk is Algeria’s number one newspaper as it circulates 165 million, says OJD

Echorouk Al Yaoumi newspaper ranked first in Algeria’s print media for its highest daily circulation estimated at 485,066 and 399,987 sold copies, according to OJD association which measures newspapers circulation and readership.

The association which issued its 2012’s annual report said Echorouk’s circulation decreased by 5.51 percent compared to 2011’s record rate while Arabic-speaking El Khabar’s circulation went down by 6.66 percent and French-speaking El Watan by 18.59 percent.

 

 

The report examined the circulation of readership of 4 Algerian daily newspapers: Echorouk, El Khabar, Ennahar and El Watan along with Echorouk and El Watan weekly editions.

 

Echorouk tops North Africa’s newspapers for third year consecutively

 

According to the report, Echorouk remains at the top of newspapers list for its highest circulation, readership, stability and expansion rates.

 

In March 2012, the newspaper’s circulation reached 499,421 per day followed by 499,014 in May and 497,380 in June out of weekly editions.

 

The report says the circulation and sold copies did not experience any disruption. Echorouk kept its circulation stable and regular on an annual basis as it did not fall from 432,712 which is much higher than any competitor newspapers’ circulation.

 

 

 

Echorouk’s annual circulation in 2012 reached 150.37 million compared to 190.9 in 2011.

 

Weekly edition is number one and Echorouk TV was involved in the newspaper’s stability

 

According to OJD, Echorouk weekly edition circulated 15.52 million in 2012. January’s four editions had the highest circulation rate estimated at 342,963 followed by June’s editions at 308,210.

 

 

The newspaper’ growth rated was estimated at 7.71 percent compared to 2011.

 

Echorouk TV played a role in the newspaper’s stability in terms of mutual interest as they have the same editorial line. The newspaper contributed in the rising number of viewers of the channel which occupies an important place among satellite TV channels in Algeria, a year after its launching.
