National Union of Education and Training Workers sent a letter to the Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, in the second week of strike, complaining the Education Ministry and accusing it of not committing to promises, and asserting that his intervention would save the school season.

UNPEF explained in the letter “Complaining and explanation”, that was sent to the Prime Minister, through the managers of educational directorates in Wilayas, the reasons that forced it to launch an open strike, and which are related basically of the non commitment of the Education Ministry to its promises through the common agreements.

“Education Ministry was supposed to take concrete measures, especially regarding the integration of the primary and secondary Education teachers in the new positions, but it did not realise the simplest commitments like the exceptional licences, which forced UNPEF to ask the public service to grant an official document as an assurance to realise the agreement’s articles that are included in the previous registers”.

“UNPEF resorted to the PM because it is keen on the sector’s stability, and in order to explain the conflict with the ministry, after the series of signed agreements which remain just words on paper”.
