Eight Ministers Decide Not to Run for 10 May Elections

Eight ministers announced, until now , that they will not participate in May 10 elections, led by the Prime Minister, and four ministers belonging to the National Liberation Front and the Secretary-General of the Party, and Minister forthe National Democratic Alliance and a Minister from MSP.

FLN ministers, including the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Maghreb and African Affairs,Abdelkader Messahel, the Communications Minister, Nacer Mehal, who dropped his candidacy in Oran, saying that he is not interested in elections, and the Minister of National Solidarity, Said Barkat, who sent the message – via the party’s website – to the Governor of Biskra (southeastern Algeria) offering thanks for the invitation and asserting that he had decided not to run, as well as, Djamel Ould Abbas, Minister of Health, Population and hospital Reform represening Temouchent (west of Algeria).

 

Meanwhile, only two ministers from the National Democratic Alliance party and the Movement of Society for Peaceannounced that they will not participate in the polls, and it comes to Muhammad Sharif Abbas the Minister of the Mujahideen (war veterans), and Mostafa ben bada, Minister of Commerce, respectively.

 

 

In 2007,  the government was composed of 12 ministers from the Party of Liberation Front, 11 ministers of them, appointed by the parliament, after they ranked on the top of lists of the party in the localities, but still 9 others have not announced their position, and will probabely paticipate in May 10 elections, and it comes to Rachid Benaissa, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Rashid Boukarzaza the former Minister of Communications (Jijel), Amar Tou,the former Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Then and now the Minister of Transport (Sidi Bel Abbes), Hachemi Djiar Minister of Youth and Sport (Boumerdes), Rashid Hraoubia Minister Higher Education and Scientific Research (Msila), Hadi Khaldi, Minister of Professional Training and Education (probably will not run), Mahmoud Khedri, Minister in charge of relations with parliament (Batna), Tayeb Louh the Minister of Labour and Employment and Social Security(Tlemcen), Boudjemaa Haichour Minister of Post, Information and Communication Technologies (Constantine).
