Election Monitoring Commission: Candidates responsible for Violations over the Electoral Campaign
Candidates for 10 May elections are responsible of the violations that marred the campaign, Vice President of the National Committee for Monitoring Elections, Kadri Hafed, said.
“All the candidates, without exception, have committed violations, the most serious of them is the use of the state’s symboles as personal achievements. The persistence of some parties in using promotion for their candidates with the end of the campaign falls in the framework of spirited atmosphere before the election”, he added.
“The Independent Committee for Monitoring Elections notified the Supervisory Committee, upon registration of many of abuses. This commission includes judges with authority to take appropriate action. Candidates did not respect the laws and rules of the election campaign due to the absence of a democratic culture for the parties, which can not have it until they got enough practice and experiences after several .
Fever of the campaign escalated at the start of the countdown to the date of 10 May, as candidates start using various means to draw the attention of the voters, and use the storefronts and transport terminals as a space for posters of the candidates, as well as recruiting dozens of young people to distribute leaflets to passers-by through the main streets of major cities,including the capital, which is packed with lists of candidates, which was doomed to ripping in most cases, at the time the sympathizers and militants of political parties took the task of re-development of such posters outside of the allotted frame, and acquired images of some heads of lists on the signs that were set by services of municipalities for this purpose, like the list of RND.
