Investigations launched by justice on the use of the means of the state by RND, during the election campaign in Saida (West of Algeria) are concluded, Chairman of the Elections Monitoring Commission, Mohamed Sadiki said.

The Elections Monitoring Commission notified the Commission of Judicial Supervision, based on a complaint filed by a representative of the Wilaya of Saida, on the breach of the Secretary-General of RND, Ahmed Ouyahia, for the instruction of the President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, which prevented the Prime Minister and Ministers who are candidates for 10 May elections, from using means and resources of the state in the election campaign.

Saddiki explained, in an interview with Echorouk, that the information received by the Committee through their representatives in Saida, confirmed that Ouyahia exploited the state’s means, including cars and guards, and police protection , which axceeds those benefited by officials of other parties, adding that RND representative, Taher Bouzeghoub, informed Ouyahia about ‭the complaint, but he denied the charge. ‬

Chairman of the Commission asserted that justice opened an investigation into the incident, but the witness in the case finally retracted his statements, which necessitated the closure of the case; “Movements of the Secretary-General of RND and the Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), where characterized by the presence of anunsual presence of security, through raising the number of guards, as well as the large number of security barriers and chack points installed by the national gendarmerie ‭.

Saddiki observed that the abuses of the two parties of power during the electoral campaign, did not stop at the use of the state’s means, but surpassed it to forcing and luring the workers to attend the public gatherings organized by Ouyahia (RND) and Belkhadem (FLN); ” The commission remarked fabricated presence in some halls during rallies organized by the two parties. We are aware that most of ‭ ‬ the people who ‭attended these gatherings are workers who did not repect their jobs, but ‭ ‬will this lies work on the polls “. ‬ ‭
