Employers Demand The Repossession Of Real Estate That Belongs To Haddad, Kouninef And Corrupt Officials

The Algerian Confederation of Employers is demanding the repossession of unused industrial properties, which were granted to the businessmen who are placed in prison in the context of corruption cases, and others obtained by businessmen who have not exploited them, at the level of five provinces namely Boumerdes, Algiers, Constantine, Annaba and Oran, in order to embody industrial projects that would employ More than 100,000 people, while asserting the need to expedite the application of the penalty of land withdrawal and impose fees on businessmen who benefited from industrial property and did not exploit them.

The problem of the industrial real estate crisis has returned strongly to the façade in the recent period in light of the cessation of industrial works and the procrastination of the governors of the Republic in the distribution of the real estate to its applicants.

Businessmen across five provinces filed more than 15.000 applications for the benefit of industrial property, asserting that these projects can, if embodied, employ more than 100.000 people and reduce the unemployment rate significantly.

The Algerian Confederation of Employers calls for the rapid distribution of these properties, through the withdrawal of unused properties by businessmen and the application of the law, asserting, in a correspondence that was addressed to the Prime Ministry, “How can industrial parks benefit from real estate while the owners who are in prison are accused of corruption “.

The deputy chairman of the Algerian Confederation of Employers and the representative of the contractors, Zakir Fazzaz, told Echorouk that the body charged with deciding applications for real estate in provinces is almost frozen, since real estate has not been granted to its business applicants for more than 7 months since the beginning of the popular movement, which disrupted a large number of projects, and put them in the unknown box.

“Real estate is available in all provinces but there is no concession, no sale, and no rent,” the spokesman said.

“The mafia of the industrial zones controlled the situation before, but today everyone is afraid to sign decisions to grant industrial property.”

He called for the liberalization of industrial property, giving priority in its distribution to projects that would inject foreign currency earnings and reduce exports, confirming that this is the main element on which real estate should be distributed.

The province of Boumerdes alone includes 32 small industrial activity zones, which were supposed to be directed to small industrial and commercial activities, but they were converted to factories with the inability of investors to take advantage of industrial property in large industrial areas.
