Ennahda Calls Bouteflika to Freeze the Reforms, Form a New Government
Islamist Ennahda movement slammed the FLN and the RND party-alliance in power, and urged President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to safeguard the will of the people by calling up free and transparent election and forming a new government.
Ennahda accused RND and FLN of “hijacking” the political reforms file to use it for next election rendezvous.
A statement issued by the parliamentary bloc of Ennahda reads that “when MPs of RND and FLN vote by no, for 120 proposed amendments to the said reforms; it’s an unequivocal message to the Algerian people that such parties are still guided by the spirit of marginalization and unilateralism inherited from the unipartism era.”
The statement says that the President’s reforms have become “a mirage”, as the two major parties in the Parliament, in reference to RND and FLN, have hijacked them, and transformed them into meaningless process.
“The FLN and RND cannot drive the train of the political reforms, because they are labeled as election-fraud arrangers and misleaders of the people, by getting legitimacy from dark corridors,” the source slammed.
Ennahda has once more urged “President Bouteflika to intervene as to safeguard the interests and rights of the people, by freezing the reforms, and paving the way for free and transparent elections under the monitoring of a national government and an independent panel, free from the control of the administration and the parties in power.”
