Entente Setif Add Algerian Championship League Title To Cup Win
The squad of Entente Setif completed the Algerian football league and cup double on Tuesday when they secured the championship title with one round of fixtures yet to play.
- A 4-2 home victory over CS Constantine, combined with a 1-0 away setback versus ASO Chlef for closest challengers USM Algiers, paved the way for ES Setif’s fifth championship title in the club’s history.
- The Sétif side are three points clear of JSM Bejaia, who moved into second place in the standings but who cannot overtake them in the case of a tie on points.
- USM Algiers are third, four points behind after losing their last two league matches.
- ES Setif won the Algerian Cup at the start of the month (May 1st 2012) versus the Algiers team of CR Belouizdad.
