ES Setif Clinch Algeria Football Cup 2012

Algeria’s First- League team of ES Sétif won Tuesday (May 1st 2012) Algeria’s football Cup after outplaying the squad of CR Belouizdad by 2 goals to one after extra-time.

• This is the 8th trophy of the like wrenched by ES Sétif in the club’s history.

• The thrilling Cup final was played in a chock-a-block Olympic stadium of Algiers in the presence of the President of the Republic Mr Abdellaziz Bouteflika and several foreign distinguished guests including FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter and CAF President Issa Hayatou in addition to other renowned sporting personalities.

• ES Sétif’s meritorious cup win triggered a huge tidal-wave of merriment and exhiliration among the residents of the eastern province of Sétif and elsewhere with thousands of joyful supporters of the club taking to the streets to celebrate the event until the early hours of the morning.
