- The life of the journalist Montadar Ezeidi will never be the same again after this event that hit the international headlines and sparked huge media uproar in the different corners of the world.
- Montadar Ezieidi, who wanted to bid to farewell to the US president in the term of his second mandate by slamming George .W. Bush on the face with a pair of shoes during a press conference, has become the new modern hero and the symbol of resistance against tyranny and despotism in the world.
- In a wide ranging interview with Echourok, he dwells on several issues surrounding his new life in the Lebanese capital city, Beirut where he seems to cherish his voluntary exile.
- I’m proud of Algeria and its people
- As soon as he knew that we were Algerian journalists from Echourok, Ezeidi insisted on sending his warmest regards to all Algerians” I’m proud of Algeria and the Algerian people and would like to express my gratitude for the journalists, trade unionists and other parties for the support and by extension to Iraq”. He further wanted to express the inner feelings and all the love and respect he owes to the Algerian authorities and people” I would like to extend my warmest regards to the valiant Algerian people who taught us bravery and resistance against the invaders”.
- During his intervention on the phone, Montadar Ezeidi paid a special tribute to the Algerian icon Djamila Bouhired. Seizing the opportunity to talk with Montadar Ezieidi, Echourok wanted to know how the shoe- thrower leads his life in Beirut, he replied:” I ‘m living temporarily in the capital city Beirut on my own expenses”.
- But many Algerians wonder whether the Iraqi journalist has really uttered the same words that the media reported when he threw the shoes on the face of the outgoing president George. W Bush?. We seized this opportunity to ask him to repeat the sentence faithfully while he was launching the shoe, he launched “ This is the farewell shell you dog from me and the Iraqis as well as the widows and orphans” .
- I chose Switzerland to sue Bush and Blair
- Montadar Ezeidi is about to launch a complaint through his Association against all the those involved in the genocide against the Iraqi people including the former US president George W Bush and former British PM Tony Blair” I’m working on it through the collection of signatures from Iraqis who were tortured, humiliated and deported; I have decided to lodge a complaint in Switzerland”.
