Expert: Google images do not reveal Algerians’ secrets
Chairman of the National Council of Real-Estate Expert Engineers said questions still surround the profession of real-estate expert engineer and held public authorities responsible for the presence of unprofessional “experts” in big achievement projects.
“The lack of the council meetings chaired by the finance minister and representative of public works, justice, interior, environment, housing and agriculture ministries caused an imbalance in terms of the council performance,” Sidhoum Sebti told Echorouk.
He added that geodesign is not applied in Algeria although the Algerian national defense issued a decision about geodesign and its definition.
“Most of studies conducted on topographical plans are not linked to those geodesign systems.”
He believes that Google images used in Algeria on different public and private projects are not accurate. “That may cause serious errors to all the operators because they are not millimeter documents.”
“For instance, although there is ‘geo portail’ in France which gives an acceptable accurate millimeter image, a law stipulates correct use of it in terms of projects achievement,” he said.
“In Algeria, modern technologies are not used such as satellite images and radar techniques,” he added.
Speaking about social level, he said incompetent people exercise the profession of real-estate engineer due to the absence of qualified experts.
