On Thursday, the Algerian Football Federation set the conditions for the recruitment of foreign players in the national championship for the first division, version 2020-2021.

The FAF granted the national championship clubs a license to bring in two foreign players at most, with the requirement that the age of the delegated player not exceed the age of 27 years.

In addition to the player’s representation of the colors of his country’s national team for the senior, or hopefuls (category less than 23 years old) or middle (category of less than 20 years), for a period of at least two years.

The relevant  commission also stipulated that the club’s management must possess sufficient funds to cover the costs of the mandate, while paying wages and grants in dinars and this in order to avert disputes, such as the foreign player resorting to FIFA, to sue the Algerian club that brought him and did not pay him his financial dues.

In addition, the FAF required elite clubs to request a work permit from the relevant authorities, and to conduct a medical examination for the hired players, before concluding the transfer deal.

It should be noted that the curtain of the Algerian market for transferring players was raised on the 5th of August and will be closed on the 27th of next October, while the date of the national championship for the new football season is expected to be announced next November.
