FAF to Sue Cameroun Squad in the CAS
The Algerian Football Federation FAF has decided to file a complaint to the FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the Cameroonian Football Association, which unilaterally cancelled the friendly game against Algeria.
A well informed source told Echorouk reporter that the FAF seeks compensation and rehabilitation for the prejudice caused by the non commitment of the Cameroun football squad to play the scheduled friendly with Algeria.
The FAF said Monday in a statement that the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation CFF, Mohammed Yia, has informed the FAF that it is impossible for Cameroun squad to come to Algiers ahead of the friendly game with Algeria, presheduled for Tuesday night in Algiers. .
The cancel of the game is due to an administrative problem within the Cameroonian squad, the source added.
The FAF deplored such “unilateral and anti sport spirit” act, and vowed to take necessary measures at the level of concerned bodies to defend its interests and seek compensations for the endured prejudice.
The players of Cameroun football squad have gone on strike and decided yet boycotting the friendly game against Algeria, over a financial conflict with the CFF.
In fact, Cameroun internationalists required 33 000 Euros in exchange of the friendly game with Algeria. The CFF said it cannot afford paying such a high sum, and promised to grant allowances after the match, but the players snubbed the offer.
