Families of Tibhirine monks call upon Hollande to pressurize Algeria

Assassination of Tibehrine monks’ case returned again to the forefront, as families of the victims invoked the French President Francois Hollande, in order to intervene and ask the Algerian authorities to play a role in exposing the reality behind the killing of the monks.

The letter, which was written by the lawyer of families of the seven monks, Patric Baudouin, read; “It is necessary to make further progress in the search for truth, and this requires a role that Algeria should play, based on the “judicial decision” which was announced by the French judge in charge of the disposition of the case, Marc Treviche.

Lawyer of the families of the monks referred passing their message through the newspaper “Le Figaro”, which is known for being close to the community of the right-wing opposition in France, making the purpose of which is likely aiming to poison the relationship between Algeria and Paris, which is in a state of unprecedented stability, as well as to embarrass Francois Hollande, at a time the President of the Republic is under treatment in the Parisian military hospital (Val-De-Grace).

Elysée Palace have sensed this matter, so it reassured families of the victims on the tongue of the government’s official spokeswoman, Nadjet Valod Belkacem, that “This case is well known by the President Hollande and he watched regularly”, as indicated by Nadjet Belkacem, who said; «The Algerian side did not provide help to shed light on the issue,  we welcome any cooperation that  could be offered by the Algerian authorities in this regard”,  according to what was attributed to her  in the French press.
