For the Sixth time since February 12: Police break up protests in Algiers

Algiers-Security services break up two attempts to organize protests in Algiers.

The usual protests by the National Coordination for Change and Democracy were planned to be launched from Wiam Squar to the Martyrs Square was quickly broke up by police.

 

 A party leader Ali Yahia Abdennour told the press; “We don’t care if this is the sixth failure since February 12”.

 This time, RCD leader Said Saadi does not participate in the protests because Algerian authorities did not give him license.

 The other protests from the central post to the presidency also broke up by police.

 Algiers protests organized by Facebook users who created a group called “Youth for Change” asking for political change in the country.
