Forbes Middle East: Echorouk awarded 2nd most influential Arab online newspaper
Dubai- A Gala Dinner hosted the Largest Arab newspapers on Monday during Forbes Ceremony held in the Luxurious Hotel « Al Onwane » located in Dubai media city.
The Algerian Newspaper Echorouk was awarded the prize of the 1st rank in the Maghreb region and 2nd in the Arab world, because it is the most influential.
General Manager of Echorouk, Mr. Ali Fodil attended the ceremony, along with other Arab newspapers’ managers, chief editors, journalists from various platforms and important businessmen.
A list of 63 most influential newspapers in the Arab world in 2011 was published on the Internet. The Egyptian newspaper “El Yaoum Assabie” (seventh day) is top of the list for the second year, due to its website which attracted more than 15 million visitors, followed by Algerian “Echorouk” newspaper in the 2nd place, then the “Emirates Today” 3rd, advancing with 19 places compared to 2010, then the Egyptian “Al Ahram” 4th, and the Jordan “Al Rai” 5th.
Dignitaries and important people from the Arab countries, who spoke to Echorouk, said that the newspaper’s website “Echoroukonline” is ranked 1st in the Maghreb region, and 2nd in the Arab world, due to knowledge of covering the news locally and globally, adding that Echorouk has a remarkable ability to get ahead of scoops and presence at the event’s site in a very short time, in addition to controlling technical means with a spirit of development, creativity and respect of the profession. They asserted that Echorouk is a unique Arab media model which deserves a study to develop mechanisms of the Arab press.
Dr. Nacer Bin Aqeel Atayar, General Manager of Annashir Al Arabi (company of edition which publishes Forbes Middle East) said; “Echorouk showed a hard work to maintain its achievements and credibility. The aim behind launching the list of the most influential newspapers on Internet in the Arab world, in to take advantage of the international experience in terms of development for continuity of newspapers in the Arab countries, with an eye to create a spirit of free and fair competition between the largest newspapers in the Arab history”.
Many Arab prominent journalists, writers and reporters, considered that Echorouk newspaper ranks 1st in the Maghreb and 2nd in the Arab zone, because of its special website which attracted a large number of visitors in MENA and North Africa. They added that Echorouk has become the first source of Algerian and Maghreb news , and even in the Arab world, due to establishing the concept of the field work thanks to the widespread correspondents in various countries of the world.
