Freedoms concretisation is the best way to protect weak people, says political movement
Struggle for social rights can not be separated from the struggle for political rights. Any progress in social rights acquisition is a democratic progress at the same time. Individual, collective freedoms and Human rights defence is the best preventive way to protect weak people, according to Rights and Freedoms Movement.
- “The International Worker’s Day celebration finds Algeria in a perturbed social context. Social protests are increasing day after day touching all the sectors. On the other hand, the country is still in a political and institutional deadend,” said the movement in a release on Saturday.
- “Instead of using oil incomes estimated at billions of dollars in productive investment, corruption networks benefited from this money as it has never been punished,” it added.
- The movement believes that workers are living in a dramatic situation because public authorities abandoned the development policy including industry.
- “The power did not find any means to face the social protests escalation except legal restrictions against union activists and independent unions.”
