Freha Residents Protest the Blunder Killing of a Woman by Army Forces

Merchants at the municipality of Freha in Tizi Ouzou province have gone on strike while tens of youngsters have barred national road n 12 with rocks and burned tires to protest against the killing, by mistake, of a woman by army troops, on Monday.

The village of Freha was quite empty in the morning of Tuesday as all the merchants responded to the strike called on by the coordination of Friha Villages. Later on, hundred citizens, including family members of the victim, have marked a sit in at the central public square of Friha, to urge authorities to reveal the circumstances of the killing incident, and then punish the wrongdoers. 

Yet, the protesters have decided to organize a march as by Thursday, from the victim’s house until the Town Hall.  

However, the commandment of the National Army has opened on the same day of the incident (Monday) an investigation, while one of the suspected wrongdoer soldiers have been arrested and transferred to the 1st military region, in order to subject him to cross examination.
