French Ambassador: “50% of Algerian Students in France Come From Tizi Ouzou”
Over 50% of Algerian students who are studying in France come from Tizi Ouzou province (eastern Algiers), French ambassador to Algeria Bernard Emié revealed, during the secret visit, which led him to Tizi Ouzou province (eastern Algiers), to meet with the French community that is living there.
“Mouloud Maameri University occupies the largest proportion of cooperation in the field of Higher Education and Scientific Research between Algerian and French universities”, which one of the reasons that makes him keen to re-open the French cultural Center, which was closed in Tizi Ouzou in 1994, for security reasons, adding that he refuses to delve into political issues between the two countries.
Brief statements that were made by the representatives of some French-speaking media, and which were “selected” in a mysterious manner by local authorities, said that the visit is due to the large number of French nationals who are residing in Tizi Ouzou and the good relationships with the population there.
Emié continued his visit, on Wednesday, without media coverage, to the headquarters of “White Fathers” in Tizi Ouzou, and the French cultural center, which ut plans to open its doors again after it was closed for more than 22 years, along with a meeting with the provincial authorities that was organized on Tuesday evening in Lalla Khedidja Hotel.
