French Ambassador: “Morocco Foreign Minister's statements against Algeria are irresponsible”

France is completely ready to exploit shale gas fields in Algeria after Sonatrach announced on an international tender, France Ambassador to Algeria, Bernard Emié said on Wednesday in a press conference, at the French Cultural Center in Telemcen (Western Algeria).

“Total will be the only French company that will present a file to exploit shale gas, after Sonatrach ends experiments to determine the size and stage of exploitable reserves.”
“France Strengthened the partnership with Algeria in this area is considered a priority for France to push forward the bilateral economic relationships”.
With regard to the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, Ambassador of France explained that this comes on the occasion of the revival of the 70 anniversary of the landing of the coalition forces in World War II, in the French city Toulon.
“This visit will be offset by an official visit of the Prime Minister, Emmanuel Walz, to Algeria during the first half of this year.”
Ambassador responds to the Moroccan Foreign Minister, who accused Algeria of disturbing the Moroccan-French relationships by saying that this is not official, and France as a member of the Security Council respects the international texts in the Western Sahara issue, and all that came with the UN envoy Christopher Ross report statements.
In another context, the French Ambassador commented about the finding the corpse of Hervé Gourdel, as an important indicator of the strong cooperation between the French and Algerian security services, as both are working on a single goal, which is fighting terrorism in all its forms.
“Cooperation between the two countries, will effect in the future some historical facts. A committee which is composed of French experts from the Moudjahidine Ministry in the process of investigation aims to find out the fate of 26,000 French soldiers who were missing during the war of national liberation.”
