There have been increased arrests for praise and extolment of “terrorism” in France after the ill-fated “Charlie Hebdo” events with on focus the rounding up of even schoolchildren who voiced their opposition to the blameworthy satirical magazine which wantonly offended through despicable cartoons the lofty Prophet of Islam, God’s peace and blessings be upon him, in various parts of French territory.

In this connection, French police didn’t waver to question in the city of Nice in southern France an eight year-old child named Ahmed on Thursday after the headmaster of his school lodged a complaint against him, in blatant violation of all pedagogical rules, accusing him of praising “terrorism”.

In a reply to his teacher’s question in the classroom, the innocent child said: “I am not Charlie who has scorned my noble Prophet, I’m with terrorism.”

This affair has sparked off strong reactions in the French media outlets because, the French police no longer differentiates in the fight against terrorism between innocent children and adults, and even between extremist jihadist ideology and freedom of expression, by making over 60 arrests in less than a month since the  “Charlie Hebdo” episode across France.

And, in the same context, French security services have also stepped up their close surveillance of social networking sites especially with on focus those people who oppose the low-down beliefs of “Charlie Hebdo”, or those who overtly express their opinions on the case.

This hysteria-like atmosphere kindled by some Islamophobic circles in France could steep the country into further trouble against a backdrop of increasing acts of racism committed against innocent Muslims, exceeding more than 130 acts of violence perpetrated so far by extremist groups against mosques as well as Muslim-owned shops and even schools frequented by Muslim pupils.
