From Algeria to South Africa: Fans of Algerian Desert Foxes to launch a dangerous trip across Africa jungles

A group of Algerian fans decided to go to South Africa to attend World Cup matches and support Rabah Saadane’s men on board of five four-wheel cars.

  • The convoy consists of 15 people, including a doctor, pharmacist, mechanical, translator and an expert in the jungles of Africa, as well as a journalists and adventurers.
  • Ms Zekkar Safia worker in a private company told echorouk; “We will travel on board of five four-wheel cars. We decided to go to South Africa in order to support Algerian team, as every one of us gave 400.000 dinars in order to buy cars and will take 4000 euros for the costs of residence in South Africa, in addition to our needs during the trip expected to be long and hard. However, the most beautiful thing is the adventure. We are excited to discover the amazing jungles of Africa. Legally, there is no problem for us; we sent letters to the ministry of Youth and Sports, Foreign and Interior ministries, ministry of Culture and the minister in charge of African relations”.
  • The Algerian convoy to support Desert Warriors will start on May 15 from Algiers and the trip would last for 15 to 20 days.
  • The trip of Desert Warriors’ fans would be too long and difficult, as they would have pass borders of nine countries before arriving to South Africa starting from Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, DR of Congo, Angola and Namibia, then arrive to South Africa.
  • According to Ms. Zekkar the last date to reach the city of Polokwane will be June, 5 2010.
