Gabriel Busquets Aparicio: “The complementary Finance Act 2009 is not an obstacle to the Spanish investments in Algeriaâ€
Contrary to the suggestions of the French Minister of Trade, Hervé Novelli, who incited the Mediterranean countries against Algeria, to face the new procedures approved by the complementary Finance Act 2009, the Spanish ambassador to Algeria Gabriel Busquets Aparicio said that this law is not an obstacle to the Spanish investment in Algeria, as Spain will seek to sign a comprehensive agreement for the economic and financial cooperation which will allow tight bilateral and strategic relations.

The Spanish ambassador to Algeria refuted, in a statement to Echorouk, the rumours by certain parties and associations about the bodies of Algerian illegal immigrants in the Spanish hospitals, and said that they are idle talk for those who want to strained the relations between the two countries, that are described as excellent.

On the other side, heads of the Spanish institutions expressed their gratitude to the Algerian authorities which give them the opportunity to work in Algeria, noting the transparency and professionalism in conducting the advertisements of the trends, as a number of institutions told Echorouk that they are willing to strengthen their presence in Algeria and contribute to the success of the supplementary program to support the growth and ensure the transfer of technology for the benefit of development in Algeria.

In the context of the valuation and development of trade and economic relations between Algeria and Spain, both the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its counterpart in Barcelona, organized a meeting of businessmen in the Sofitel hotel in order to discuss ways of cooperation, friendship and good neighbourliness to implement the treaty signed by the two countriesin Madrid in 2002, with the participation of 200 Algerian traders, and 60 Catalan institutions, specialized in various sectors such as, Construction, Tourism, Agriculture, Education and Environment.

The Catalan PM José Montina said; “ Algeria is the first exporter of the natural gas to Spain and Catalonia is the main trade partner to Spain, as it represents 80% of the Spanish investments in Algeria”.

For his part, the Minister of Universities and Institutions in Catalonia, Joseph Bioska said; “ 70 Catalan dealers contribute to the evaluation of the relations between the two countries, as there are 60 Catalan companies active among 120 Spanish companies in Algeria like “ Sociedad Qalidasio” specialized in medicines, and the company of Architectural Engineering “Tessy 4” .
